The mission of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health is to optimize the hope, wellbeing and life trajectory of Los Angeles County's most vulnerable through access to care and resources that promote not only independence and personal recovery but also connectedness and community reintegration.  The SFVACC has had the wonderful opportunity to present a series of art workshops for clients of the LACODMH.  Sadly, the workshops, which were intended to culminate in a four-week exhibit in May 2020, were interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.  The exhibit was intended to include not only work from these workshops, but art produced by classes held at the SFVACC by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, and collaboration with other community based groups.  Some of the work from the LACODMH workshops is in the album on this page.  We truly hope the program can continue when we are all safe.
