Jazz Muse Concert Series Presents "Because of You...Remembering Kenny Rankin"

The third show of our very popular Jazz Muse Concert Series will be on Saturday, June 2nd. Entitled "Because of You...Remembering Kenny Rankin," this concert presents music & lyrics from well known singer/songwriter Kenny Rankin. It features award-winning vocalist Janis Mann, Roy McCurdy, Chris Conner on bass, Tom Rizzo on guitar and Andy Langham for an intimate evening of scintillating music. Doors open at 7:00 pm so you can see the upcoming "Call of the Wild" exhibit and the show will start at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $25 at the door and $15 for students.  Appetizers, wine and beer will be served.  Get here early for the best seats.

Occidental Gypsy Swing & Jazz Concert

We were lucky enough to get Occidental Gypsy on their swing through Southern California for their CD Release Tour.  Don Heckman from the LA Times says, "It's one irresistible rhythmic groove after another."  Liven up your evening on Saturday, June 16th at 7:00 pm.  You may purchase tickets online right here and if you want to listen to their music first, go to www.occidentalgypsy.com.

Writer's Workshop with Chris Mahon

Get your writer's groove on with this four-part writing series.  Taught by Christopher Mahon, these classes will help you expand your skills.  Classes are Tuesdays, July 17, 24, 31 and August 7th...and they are in the evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.  Only $60 for all four classes or $20 per single class.  For more information, look at our events calendar.

Calling all volunteers!

2018 will bring about a new concept in sitting at the Center.  We will be putting together a team of professional docents to watch over the Center during our exhibits.  These docents will be trained in everything they need to know about running the Center and being a welcoming representative behind the reception desk. Organizations can also have their members keep our professional docents company, if they so wish.  We will need to fill thirty 3-hour shifts during each of our 3-week exhibits and forty 3-hour shifts during out 4-week exhibits in 2018.  So think about joining our team and immerse yourself in all that creative energy at the Center! Click here for the application.
